The role

This is a role for a leader who is equally committed to safety, workplace morale and achieving results.

You will be responsible for planning, delegating and coordinating the smooth and effective day to day operation of the Active Tree Services team and provide support, communication and employee development.

The role provides the scope to work on projects that shape the city and the chance to make a lasting impact in the iconic parks of Sydney in an industry-leading company.

You will be a team player and a people-person who takes challenges in their stride. This is a position that offers industry and employment security. The role is full-time, with career advancement opportunities available.

The successful candidate will be able to respond to emergency, out of hours, call outs and will be sufficiently remunerated for this.

The role would suit an Arborist who is looking to get off ‘the tools’ and lean towards a career in tree inspection and management.

  • Able to assess and specify Arboricultural services in Sydney’s Parks, Council Properties and Streetscapes
  • Someone who can carry out tree risk assessments for individual trees and groups
  • Someone who can solve technical problems directly related to Arboriculture
  • Able to work with our clients to prioritise risk-related tree works and offer advice
  • Able to assist with the development and implementation of tree management inspection processes
  • People capable of advising onsite contractors who undertake essential tree maintenance work
  • People with exceptional customer service and the ability to form relationships with crew, management, customers and clients.
  • People with an eye for detail and the ability to problem solve.

Minimum requirements?

  • AQF5 Diploma in Arboriculture (Consideration will be given to enrolled candidates)
  • Unrestricted MR License
  • Industry experience in Horticulture or Arboriculture
  • Tree Risk Assessment Qualification TRAQ (non-essential)
  • Well-developed tree identification skills and tree health assessment skills
  • Highly effective communicator
  • Ability to organise, plan and delegate
  • Proven ability to train and mentor staff
  • Ability to see potential issues and be proactive in decisions
  • Dedication, dependability and Honesty
  • Person who takes pride in their work

Remuneration:

  • $80,000 to $90,000 per annum (experience dependent) plus vehicle.
  • Overtime paid at penalty rates, and generously rewarded for call out work.
  • Access to the supervisor discretionary bonus scheme.
