Bernipave is a family owned company based in Londonderry NSW providing asphalt and concrete road construction and restoration services for the government and private sector.

Role:

We have an immediate vacancy for a Trade Qualified Heavy Equipment, Diesel Mechanic (or fitter mechanic) with fleet management experience to work on road construction machinery. 

Experience within the Road, Mining and/or Earth Moving industries is highly regarded.

This is a fulltime position and you will need to be available for long term employment and ready to start as soon as possible. Standard work days are Monday - Friday with some weekend work required at times.

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Reliable, fit, energetic and able to work in a team environment and work independently and unsupervised.
  • Possess strong planning, organising, time management and communication skills.
  • Ability to actively promote and lead safe work practices and the adherence to relevant WHS management, Quality and Environment systems, processes and behaviours is essential.

Expected Tasks:

To provide workshop and on-site mechanical service and maintenance to ensure equipment is kept in good, safe working order including:

  • To perform scheduled safety inspections.
  • To develop and perform preventative maintenance programmes.
  • To execute workshop and on-site break-down repairs and servicing of plant and equipment.
  • To ensure all equipment is in good working order at all times (high availability).
  • To procure parts and consumables to ensure high efficiency, timely servicing and repairs.
  • To correctly and lawfully disposal of all waste. 
  • To ensuring the work areas are kept in a clean, professional and safe state.
  • To ensure correct and timely completion of documentation and paperwork and its safe keeping.
  • To coordinate with co-workers a schedule of repairs and maintenance.
  • To communicate with management and provide advice/recommendations on plant lifecycle.

Qualifications:

  • Possession of a current "C" Class drivers licence is essential with licence class HR or HC desirable.
  • Construction Induction Card - White Card is essential.
  • Trade qualified Diesel Mechanic (Fitter Mechanic an advantage).

Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience with the Road, Mining and/or Earth Moving vehicle maintenance and servicing in-house and in-field.
  • Experience with preventative maintenance programmes – inspections and fault finding.

Wage: 

  • To be negotiated with successful candidate yet a competitive pay rate will be offered to attract the right candidate.
