Butcher & Smallgoods Maker

We are currently seeking a qualified Butcher and Smallgoods Maker at Fine Poultry & Meats in the retail/shop front in Portsmith.

EXPERIENCE/ REQUIREMENTS

• Passion for the industry and motivated to learn new skills and products.
• Willing to work Saturdays.
• Impeccable customer service.
• Cash handling/EFTPOS experience.
• Must be reliable.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
• A passion to strive for quality and consistency.
• Understanding of OH&S standards and operating procedures.

• Be a Team player and help others to complete daily task on time and showing respect to staff. 
• Being knowledgeable in your position, showing your style to create exceptional products.

ABOUT US

Our smallgoods are made on premises. Our services include a shop front where the public can see our display. We are now able to offer some of cheapest, most competitive prices around town on our poultry, meats and small goods. Together with an experienced back room of staff we can meet requests of all quantities.  We ensure our products are the best by sourcing locally and our aim is to be the best wholesaler and supplier in Cairns.

THE ROLE

In your role you will be responsible for the retail shopfront as well as assisting in the butchery department to assist wholesale orders. The role is currently offered as casual:

8:30am – 5:00pm Tue – Fri

8:00am – 1:00pm Sat

SKILLS REQUIRED

• Ability to operate typical butchery equipment.
• Ability to work fast and efficient.
• Ability to take directions.
• Attention to detail, cleanliness and hygiene.
