The Swanston Hotel, which comprises of two hotels is centrally located within Melbourne CBD and is currently seeking a skilled and qualified plumber with a strong back ground within the plumbing industry to join our hotel maintenance team.
You must have at least 3 to 5 years experience post apprenticeship and the ability to work within designated maintenance team and be available to perform additional general maintenance tasks as required.
You will be highly motivated and demonstrate the ability to work alone from the day of commencement. You will have the skills and abilities to repair and organise maintenance schedules for all plumbing applications.
This role will also ensure that all guest rooms are maintained in the highest possible standard and that the rooms remain a pleasant and safe environment for all guests, visitors and employees.
The successful applicant will possess the following essential skills:
• Experience in the Plumbing/Mechanical services
• Experience with a range of Air Conditioning Systems including Central Plant, Air Handling Units and DX Systems;
• Understanding of required Licences, Statutory Acts, Codes and Regulations
• Communicating effectively in both oral and written communication
• Able to read site plans and work with a safety first mentality
You will also be responsible for prioritizing work orders through urgent requests, respond to guest room calls as required, complete other non-electrical maintenance work such as general repairs, carpentry, mechanics and plumbing, work on minor projects and assist the Maintenance Team in carrying out preventative maintenance in and around the hotel.
Essential Requirements Include
- A current Victorian Drivers Licence
- Plumbing qualifications and gas certificate are essential;
- Dual skills with gas.
Duties will include, but not be limited to:
- Plumbing maintenance
- Gas installations
- Hot water systems
- Leak detection
- Participating in the Hotel’s maintenance program.
