We are currently seeking a Trade Qualified Maintenance Fitter to join our Melbourne operations in Laverton North. The key purpose of this position is to perform predictive, preventive, corrective and proactive maintenance on all equipment across the site, and have an attitude that supports our culture of continuous improvement

• Be a role model in Health, Safety & Environment and Continuous Improvement.
• Ensure that required work has appropriate Permit to Work (PTW), Job Safety & Environmental Analysis (JSEA), Take 5, Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) and Management of Change (MOC) done before performing tasks related to it
• Be available for callouts as per the callout schedule and roster
• Be up to date and trained on the usage of equipment and tools necessary to carry out day-to-day activities 
• Participate in and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement among colleagues by encouraging suggestions and ideas to improve equipment reliability, availability, maintainability and Safety
• Perform predictive, preventive, corrective and proactive maintenance on all equipment as assigned
• Perform duties and work assigned on daily schedule to a high standard in 5S, safety, environmental, and quality requirements. Ensuring root cause of the problems are addressed
• Maintains records as required including printing Work Orders, assigning parts, recording history, raising supplementary work orders, closing out work orders in the Computerised Maintenance Management System (MEX)
   

Knowledge and skills required to perform this role include:

• Maintenance Fitting & Turning and troubleshooting/repairs
• Understanding of Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM)
• Machining, Pump Overhauls, Gearbox overhauls, precision alignment.
• Ability to Arc and MIG weld.
• Competent in Stainless Steel TIG welding.
• Confined Space Entry Trained
• Forklift License, Rigging License, Work At Heights Trained, EWP license

We are looking for an experienced Fitter and Turner with demonstrated experience in the Chemical industry or similar. The ideal candidate will be a strategic problem solver who has a commitment to continuous improvements activities while being highly safety conscious and well versed in appropriate safety standards
