Saint Stephen's College invites applications from experienced and committed Maintenance Assistants to join the College’s Maintenance Team. The Maintenance Assistant will be responsible for carrying out a range of maintenance tasks around the College, varying from basic carpentry, patching and painting, moving furniture and other ad-hoc maintenance duties, along with assisting with the set-up for sport and events hosted by the College.
This position is a permanent, full-time position. The successful applicant will be required to work for 38 hours per week, Mondays to Fridays, from 6.30 am to 2.30 pm. The position is available for an immediate start. Salary remuneration will be in accordance with the College’s Collective Enterprise Agreement.
To be considered for this position, please address the following criteria in your application:
- Proven experience in building maintenance, preferably within a school environment;
- Relevant trade qualifications are desirable;
- Demonstrated competence in all basic carpentry, preventative and reactive maintenance;
- Demonstrated experience in using power tools and hand tools including saws, hammers, drills, etc;
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team;
- A strong work ethic demonstrating a positive, proactive and committed approach;
- The willingness to learn, flexible and adaptable to meet changing priorities and expectations;
- Current Working with Children Check / Blue Card (or the eligibility to apply).
