THE ROLE

As a Mechanical Fitter, you will work on a Fulltime basis supporting our shutdowns, projects and maintenance services across multiple sites in the Mackay Region.

Key responsibilities of the role will include but not limited to the following:

• Comply with Rema Tip Tops and our clients SHSM requirements on site by completing and reviewing risk assessments;
• Installation adjustment and refurbishment of Conveyor cleaning systems and components;
• Removal and Installation of Conveyor related mechanical components, i.e Pulleys, tracking systems and other conveyor related components;
• Flexibility to Assist in planned and unplanned work onsite and workshop environment;
• Mechanical related but not restricted to inspections on running and fixed plant conveyor related;
• Demonstrate or are willing to further your knowledge of conveyor related products and equipment;
• Observe all prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain good housekeeping on job fronts and company equipment;
• Travel to customer sites on an as-required basis;

ABOUT YOU

Key skills and experience required for this position:

• Trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter with exposure to heavy industry and conveyor maintenance with basic welding skills;
• A strong commitment to safety, quality and customer service;
• High-level communication skills and attention to detail;
• Ability to troubleshoot and propose solutions to all mechanical issues;
• A current Drivers Licence, confined space and working at heights tickets is essential;
• Willingness to undergo and pass pre-employment medical;
• Must be prepared to be flexible in relation to the nature of duties performed;
• Excellent communication skills, self-motivation and a strong work ethic;
• Ability to provide mechanical solutions to customer issues and requirements;
• Ability to demonstrate knowledge of client’s conveyor systems and products;

Desirable:

• Forklift licence
• HR/ MR licences
