Downer Rail have a number of exciting opportunities available for Experienced Trade Assistants within the Rollingstock/Rail industry to join the team at our Auburn Maintenance Centre. These positions will be employed on a full time basis for a 12 month period initially, working a three shift rotating roster on a 24/7 cycle . Your role will include a diverse range of duties from assisting technicians on the shop floor with the maintenance of our fleets to performing stores-related tasks and general housekeeping.
About You:
- Rail Industry Safety Induction(RISI card)
- LF forklift ticket (advantageous)
- Have a strong mechanical aptitude
- Attention to detail and able to follow instructions
- Previous experience within Heavy Industrial Maintenance or with Rollingstock
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision if required
- A strong ‘team player’ with the proven ability to work efficiently with others
- A strong commitment to a Zero Harm culture
