What's involved?

Reporting to the Packing Floor Leading Hand, the Packing Floor General Hand is responsible for various operations including:

• Operate refined sugar packaging machines

• Despatching of palletised product onto trucks

• Warehousing of palletised product and packaging materials

• Comply with strict food safety and hygiene standards

• Comply with chain of responsibility requirements

• Comply with WHS requirements

• Participate in continuous improvement programs

• Actively participate in regular team meetings

• Cleaning and carrying out other duties as directed

What we are looking for:

• Current forklift licence and relevant driving experience

• The ability to identify and rectify hazards with respect to WHS and environmental protection

• Mechanical Aptitude

• Ability to communicate in a clear and constructive manner both verbally and in writing

• Ability to process and complete paperwork.

• Computer literacy

• Commitment and good attitude to safety and culture

• Proactive self-starter with ability to work with minimal supervision

• Sufficient physical fitness, sight and hearing

• Ability to work in an environment with frequent exposure to noisy, wet, greasy and/or humid conditions, as well as heights

• Ability to work on 12 hour shift roster which may involve weekends

Desirable criteria:

• Proven understanding of food safety (HACCP)

• Production or process experience
