Print Production Operator - Pre press, Print & Finishing operator - Immediate start at Snap Burwood

Print Operations,provide Graphic Design support, Pre Press support and perform Finish operations when needed

Be an efficient and accurate production person i.e. be timely and customer friendly

Principal responsibilities .

1. Read and interpret work docket instructions
2. Operating digital production printers and wide format printers e.g. Xerox printers
3. Use of pre-press and other software for making art work print-ready e.g. FIERY
4. Use PSV printing business management application as a production person
5. Proficient use of all types of finishing equipment
6. Regularly communicate and update Centre staff in reference to work progress
7. Provide technical knowledge and advice to customers and team members as required
8. Coordinate the production of finished work including packaging for delivery to clients
9. Conduct final inspection of work to ensure customers’ standards are met before delivery
10. Ensure all work and stock is stored correctly throughout the production process
11. Complete all production work in accordance with responsibilities      
12. Coordinate and contribute to daily work in progress meetings
13. Coordinate equipment maintenance schedule
14. Coordinate equipment maintenance schedule
15. Ensure enough stock is in the store by checking and ordering in consultation with Franchisee
16. Any other ad hoc tasks as required by management

Skills & Experience necessary:

• Ability to move from concept to design to production
• Thorough Knowledge of:
  • Comprehensive understanding of digital and 4 colour processes
  • Pre press operations in digital printing and production
  • Finishing operations (operating printers, guillotine, laminating, binding, packing etc)
• Production work flow and work scheduling
• Knowledge of Design tools - Adobe Suite (Indesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat) in a Mac environment, and Microsoft Office Packages
• 4-5 years relevant experience within the print industry in a similar role
• Ability to recommend solution to client's print needs
• Ability to communicate with hubs and external suppliers

Important Personal skills:

• Fluent in English - speaks and writes well, and is customer friendly
• Excellent time management and organisational skills
• Ability to work on multiple tasks at once, and is flexible (will perform ad-hoc tasks)
• Team player, willing to learn and happy to drive when needed
• Chinese or Korean language skills will be a nice to have skill
• Applicants with previous experience in a printing franchise is a value add.
