The role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Diesel Fitter to work in our maintenance team based at Balmain Shipyard. As a Diesel Fitter, you will be required to rebuild engines and troubleshoot engine issues in line with best practice to ensure we operate in a safe and efficient manner. You will be required to work closely with supervisors and provide guidance to Assistant Tradespersons and Apprentices in the maintenance and repair of the vessels.
What you bring
To be successful in the role, you must have:
- Relevant experience in a marine, plant equipment, automotive-diesel or industrial environment
- Trade qualifications as a Diesel Mechanic or equivalent
- Strong problem solving skills with a track record in diagnosing mechanical faults
- Willingness to attend and complete training courses on technical and safety competencies annually
