WEARX Solutions are currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Fitter / Machinist for our Hexham workshop. Working as part of a team you will be instrumental in delivery high quality work.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Primarily, this role involves the stripping and refurbishment of conveyor pulleys and manufacture and assembly of conveyor belt cleaners.
  • Examine detailed drawings or specifications to find out job, material and equipment requirements.
  • Strip and assess pulleys for repair as per customer specifications and complete detailed report documentation.
  • Set up and operate Lathes and Horizontal Borer (non CNC) to manufacture new pulley shafts and machine shells.
  • Re-assemble refurbished pulleys, adhering to all specifications and tolerances.
  • Check accuracy and quality of finished parts, tools or sub-assemblies and complete relevant QA documentation.
  • General Machining and Fitting tasks as required

    Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

  • Trade qualifications - Fitter Machinist
  • Ability to demonstrate a sound knowledge of safe work practices
  • Strong knowledge of production processes
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Operation of forklifts and overhead cranes
  • General welding skills preferred but not essential
