About the opportunity

• The Production Manager’s position is one that requires a person with great discipline and attention to detail in order to ensure that every repair not only meets company standards, but also the customer’s approval.  He/she must be a motivator and leader and be able to delegate responsibilities to the production staff while accepting the challenge of different repair problems.

• Must be proactive in identifying better business solutions, not only for production processes but for any department within the business.

• Must be able to identify & resolve production issues promptly & without conflict.

• Assist management to document, implement & revise present systems & new systems.

• Show due diligence toward Occupational Health & Safety compliance & assist the business to be proactive in maintaining & improving OHS standards.

• Delegate, train & oversee the roles & responsibilities of any team member that is employed to assist your department.

• Oversee all workshop operations and give directions to all productive employees.

• Attend Daily Production meeting & contribute required information daily. ie; jobs due in, jobs due out, workshop delays, etc & report to management any problems either work related or personal that could affect productivity.

• Attend the monthly administration meetings & contribute through communicating the performance of the productive staff & related issues for the period being reviewed.

• Plan & maintain the productive worker workloads for each day by utilising the software & hardware available ie; BOSS Planning System.

• Completing daily tasks assigned to daily action plan.

• Identify, discuss & process supplements as soon as identified by productive staff. Do this in liaison with estimators & admin staff.

• Ensure all workshop personnel fill in their Job Worksheets and Quality Checklists for processing.

• Coach & discipline both productive & productive assist staff when they fail to follow procedures.

• Control sublet items for all work in progress.

• Assist with customer service as required.

• Ensure all workshop stocks are adequate.

• Supervise the cleanliness of the workshop & the maintenance of tools & equipment.

• Supervise & promote development of apprentices.

• Make technical advice available to all staff members as required.

• Ensure customer satisfaction has been achieved
