Ian Barker Gardens is an award winning landscape design, construction and maintenance company based in Canterbury with the majority of our projects within the surrounding suburbs. We pride ourselves on having an open, friendly and passionate team dedicated to creating and maintaining high-end residential outdoor spaces. We are seeking a qualified and experienced landscaper who is looking to take the next step in leading their own construction team.
The Role
- Scheduling and organising a team of qualified landscapers and apprentices on a day to day basis in all areas of landscape construction (hard and soft scapes)
- Planning and scheduling materials and tasks
- Communication with the construction manager and office support
- Communication with clients on site
- Mentoring junior staff and apprentices
- Ensuring on site safety
- Ensuring construction quality
About You
- Certificate III in Landscape Construction or higher
- At least three to five years experience (preferably qualified), with a focus on residential projects
- A sound knowledge of both hard & soft construction techniques
- Construction induction card
- Experience with excavator/bobcat
- Current drivers licence
- Strong planning, organisation and time management skills
- Enthusiasm and a genuine willingness to teach and lead a team
- A professional approach and a positive outlook
- Ability to problem solve
