CNC Machinist – Casual to Permanent

Jaws Buckets & Attachments is located in Archerfield. We are a leading manufacturer of earthmoving attachments for the mining and construction industries.

An immediate opportunity has arisen for experienced CNC Operators to join the team. The successful candidates will have demonstrated machinery knowledge, trade qualified and competent using Mills and/or Lathes. Mazak, Okuma, Fanuc, Fagor experience essential.

Normal workshop hours are from 7.00am to 3.30pm Monday to Friday, with opportunities to work overtime each week, including Saturdays OR afternoon shift if preferable.

About the roles

Current available positions:

• 1st Class Machinist – Lathe experience
• 1st Class Machinist – Horizontal Borer experience
• 1st Class Machinist – Milling experience

Key tasks

• Programming and operating 2 - 5 axis machining centers
• Work with management to improve quality and machining run times to maximize Jaws competitive edge
• Set-up, day to day maintenance and cleaning of machines
• Selecting tools, cutters and inserts and editing/modifying programs as necessary
• Operating over-head cranes
• Monitoring equipment conditions and reporting faults

About you

• Relevant trade qualification and demonstrated experience
• Able to read, understand and interpret drawings
• Strong understanding of ISO G-code programming and FAUNC/Okuma/Mazatrol control systems
• Demonstrate safe work practices
• Must have Australian work rights

  Also desirable:

• Mechanical fitting experience
• Forklift license
• Dogging/Rigging experience
• CAM programming knowledge
