Redstar Equipment is a specialist fixed-speed diesel equipment company providing generators, compressors, welders, lighting towers, distribution boards, parts & servicing to many of Australia’s largest mining, construction, industrial, rental and government organisations

Position Purpose:

Redstar is looking for an Electrical Field Service Technician to carry out service and repair both new and used equipment in the workshop and  field in an efficient and timely manner.

Principle Accountabilities:

• Servicing and maintaining machinery under warranty in field and workshop as needed.
• Ensuring warranty RTS times are adhered to.
• Uploading of all data logs, computers, pictures and other relevant information regarding in field or workshop jobs.
• Diagnosis and fault finding in the electrical and mechanical assessment of machinery for repair, maintenance and service in the field.
• Ensuring machinery is serviced as per Redstar Equipment guidelines and carried out in a timely manner.
• Maintain a neat and tidy appearance at all times. Company uniforms to be provided.
• Ensure all online training modules are completed and maintained as require.
• Ensure all paperwork is completed accurately and correctly and submitted to the service administrator at the end of each working day.
• Ensuring a safe working environment for all staff and customers as well as reporting any safety incidents or concerns to the Service Manager and/or the OHS manager.
• Comply with all relevant OH&S requirements as stated in Redstar Equipment  site induction.
• Ensure compliance and communication strategies for managing OH&S risks in the workplace.
• Conformance to quality systems and procedures.

Role Requirements and Qualifications:

• Trade qualified Electrician with current licence.
• Intermediate experience working on diesel generators and compressors. Training will be provided.
• Experience with generator control panels(Deepsea, ComAp, Woodward) will be highly regarded.
• Have a sound understanding and willingness to embrace working within a strong safety culture.
• A forklift ticket would be advantageous.
• Ability to complete repetitive tasks efficiently.
• Strong focus on customer service and attention to detail. Comfortable speaking with customers, offering technical support, recommendations, etc.
• Excellent diagnosis and fault finding abilities.
• Previous field service experience would be highly regarded.
• Self-starter with ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
• Ability to Multi task.
• Positive can-do attitude.
