About the business

We are a family owned and operated automotive accessory fitting service specialising in trailers, towbar and roof racks fitments, auto electrical accessories such as electric brake controllers and reversing cameras.

About the role

We are currently seeking an experienced metal fabricator and senior accessory fitter to join our team. You will be required to mark off and fabricate structural steel and other metal stock to make or repair metal products and structures and be able to fit towbars including electrics and other auto accessories including electric brake controllers.

Skills and experience

• Minimum Certificate III in Metal Fabrication
• The ability to read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine job requirements selecting, cleaning and preparing metal stock
• Use appropriate tools cutting such as hand tools, flame cutting torches, Mig Welders and metal cutting machines
• The ability to shape and bend metal sections and pipes using hand and machine tools.
• Assess welds for width of bead, penetration and precision
• High quality finishing of fabrication including all welds
• Demonstrated experience of towbar fitments
• Demonstrated experience in fitting of auto electrical components such as brake controllers and anderson plugs

• A background in metal fabrication specifically in the automotive accessories industry with a proven track record of towbar and accessory fitment
