At Monaro Timber we supply timber to almost anyone and we do almost anything in timber. Nearly 75% of our customers are other tradies who get us to do the tricky stuff in timber. Benchtops, tables, step treads, hand rails, flooring, mouldings, we do it all.
The person we need will possess good basic machining skills. You will know your way around all the standard machines such as jointer, thicknesser, saws, etc. Hopefully you will have good portable power tool skills and if you are really good then you will have ability with traditional hand tools as well. If you have kitchen or joinery experience and want to learn more about timber then we would still like to talk to you. We are happy to spend some time further training the right person but you will of course have a trade background or other well developed joinery or woodwork skills. ( If you don't have the necessary skills but are interested in an apprenticeship then please contact us for a different discussion. )
This full time position will reward those with the right skills and provide opportunities most places don't. Based in Queanbeyan we are a stones throw from central Canberra so very well placed.
