Mechanic – Heavy Duty Diesel
As a Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic you will report to the Maintenance Supervisor and work a combination of day and afternoon shift ensuring that the trucks and ancillary equipment are maintained to The Department of Transport and Main Roads accreditation standards.
Your goals will be to:
- Sustain minimum equipment downtime
- Identify cost improvement strategies
- Undertake routine and preventative maintenance activities.
To be successful in this role you will have the following qualifications/experience:
Relevant trade certificates and qualifications (heavy vehicle mechanic qualifications essential);
- WA Class C Drivers Licence essential, HR Drivers licence preferred ;
- Experience in the repair of heavy duty diesel vehicles – Volvo experience preferred but not essential;
- Demonstrated ability to develop effective and productive working relationships;
- A commitment to safe work practices producing quality workmanship within the required timeframe;
- Well developed communication skills; and
Essential to this role is a strong safety focus, along with a team oriented outlook.
The successful candidate will be on a rotating shift starting either a 6.00am or 2.00pm.
