We are seeking Trades Assistants for an upcoming wagon overhaul project. This project will run for 18 months and potential extension of contract.
Working as part of the Townsville Team, you will report to the Supervisor and as a Trades Assistant, you will assist qualified Trades and/or Technicians in the performance of their work in a safe and efficient manner to deliver an exceptional standard of service to clients.
Responsibilities will include:
- Undertake all responsibilities in a safe manner.
- Conduct maintenance activities on a variety of rollingstock
- Assist tradespeople as instructed to enable work to be carried out
- Operate hand tools safely and efficiently
- Fit and assemble metal parts, tools or sub-assemblies, including welding or brazing parts
- Perform assembly and dismantling operations such as screwing and bolting, cable and equipment installations
We are looking for high achievers who strive for results and have a strong commitment to achieving safety standards. Key criteria will include:
- Sound experience in a similar role mainly medium and heavy fabrication or assisting Mechanical Fitters
- Tickets and Licenses: Forklift, Gantry Crane, EWP, First Aid would be beneficial
- Available to start in 2 weeks
