Wilmar Sugar Australia is the nation's largest sugar producer and a major provider of renewable electricity and BioEthanol. Our joint ventures, Sugar Australia and New Zealand Sugar, market a range of sugar and sweetener products under the familiar brands CSR, Chelsea and Equal.

Wilmar Sugar owns and operates eight sugar mills in North Queensland. Our mills - located in the Herbert, Burdekin, Proserpine and Plane Creek regions - operate 24/7 during the crushing season, which typically runs from June to November. Outside of the crush, our teams are involved in an intensive maintenance, capital and innovation program to ensure our sugar mills continue to be safe and reliable, and among the most efficient in the world.

Expression of Interest - Boilermakers - Fixed Term

EOI's are invited from suitably qualified personnel for the potential vacancy of Boilermakers in the Herbert Region. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of Wilmar's continued internal fabrication program to support its ongoing capital investment in its North Queensland sugar mills.

It is essential that the persons we are seeking have the relevant competencies, experience and qualifications (a Certificate III in Fabrication (Boilermaker).

Job level will depend on current qualifications and skills mix. A major consideration in this position will be providing trade guidance to fellow team members.

The following criteria will be used in the selection process:

• Self-motivated and organised, work independently with a minimal level of supervision
• Act/work safely and maintain a healthy and safe work environment
• Work effectively within a team environment and work in conjunction with maintenance and service teams
• Active involvement with Apprentices, ensuring competencies are complete and sign off achieved
• Ability to readily understand, interpret and work from detailed construction and fabrication drawings
• Good organisational, planning and decision-making skills will be highly regarded
• Willingness and ability to acquire new skills and/or qualifications as required
• Abide by and communicate Wilmar's policies, procedures and values

The successful candidate should hold the following essential criteria:

• Qualified Mechanical Tradesperson (Fabrication)
• Manual Driver's Licence
• Demonstrate the ability to qualify against common weld procedures used in steel beam construction and plate fabrication
• Candidates with current or past qualifications in pressure welding will be highly regarded
