We are currently seeking experienced and professional Security Officers to work as part of our corporate portfolio in Southbank on a full-time basis.
About the role:
The position is primarily responsible for the safety of staff, visitors, residents and the general public by conducting extensive foot patrols and monitoring screens to deter security breaches. The successful candidate must be exceptionally presented, and available to work a 24/7 rotating roster including weekends and public holidays.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor screens and CCTV to ensure assets are protected, to deter would-be offenders, to detect any signs of a security breach or unusual situation.
- Respond to critical incidents and simultaneously prepare written reports
- Monitor and respond to internal and external alarms
- Interact with key stakeholders including building management, emergency services, client representatives and security officers via phone, radio and intercom systems.
- Practise and implement health and safety processes including risk assessments
- Take control in day-to-day and emergency situations
- Provide remote access to buildings via building access control systems
- Conduct both indoor and outdoor foot patrols
- Provide excellent customer service
Required Skills and Attributes:
- Excellent presentation and professionalism
- Superior customer service skills
- Excellent communication skills; both verbal and written
- High level of computer literacy (Word, Excel, Access Control systems)
- Good typing skills
- Reactive and quick thinker and the ability to show initiative
- Physically fit to conduct foot patrols
- A sharp eye for detail
Essential Requirements:
- Certificate II or III in Security Operations
- Current Security licence; Control Room endorsement preferred
- Current First Aid
- Current drivers licence
- Australian citizenship or permanent residency
- Previous Control Room experience will be highly regarded
