Located within the Sydney Hills District, we are looking for an experienced, hard-working, reliable and skilled Handyman & Property Maintenance person to join our growing team, available for immediate start.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The role of Handyman & Property Maintenance will be responsible for a broad range of general repairs and maintenance activities and to communicate the progress and completion of works as required. Ensuring the premises are well presented, clean, serviced, compliant, functioning and all stakeholder daily needs are anticipated and met ensuring safe, efficient and comfortable environment. The task and role responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Attend to all reactive and preventative maintenance works, including building, painting and structural works
- Minor electrical repairs and maintenance
- Plumbing repairs and maintenance
- General carpentry, repairs, painting, plastering & ceiling repairs, gyprock fixing and repairs
- Landscaping and garden maintenance
- Participate in establishing effective maintenance procedures to improve operations
- Identify, report and action defects. Investigate and resolve service issues promptly and effectively
- Other General Handyman duties, ad hoc Property Management & Projects
- Assisting with Warehouse Operations (training provided)
- Forklift operations (training program provided)
- Demonstrate commitment to work safely, independently and also part of a team
- Adherence to WHS procedures and legislations
SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE
- Ideally 5-10 years Handyman & Property Maintenance experience
- Confidence in handling a range of reactive and preventative maintenance work
- Competence with hand tools and garden machinery, including the ability to undertake a wide range of maintenance tasks
- Carpentry trade background (minimum 5 year’s experience) – highly regarded
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills as ability to build rapport with senior management and liaising with suppliers are essential
- Ability to work well autonomously as well as part of a wider team
- Valid NSW Driver’s License
- Excellent work ethic, reliable and hardworking
- Understanding of WH&S
- Ability to multi-task
- National Police Clearance Certificate (or be prepared to undertake one prior to being employed)
- Australian Citizenship, Permanent Residency or the right to work in Australia
- References essential
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Trade experience background - minimum 5 year’s experience
- Carpentry trade background (minimum 5 years’ experience) – highly regarded
- Excellent communication and people skills (proficiency in English, strong verbal & written communication skills)
- Current Driver’s License
- Forklift License (training & license certificate provided)
- Works well unsupervised
- National Police Clearance Certificate (or be prepared to undertake one prior to being employed)
