Concept Engineering have been providing labour hire and recruitment services to industry for over 40 years.

Due to continued company growth and increasing demand from regular clients, our client - a privately owned property services company based in Vermont - now has an immediate vacancy for a suitably experienced Handyman to join a small team servicing Melbourne.

Our valued client caters to a large range of clientele from private residences to larger commercial businesses.

The Handyman role is multi-dimensional encompassing various trade and people skills.

Ideally, candidates will have good all round handyman skills typically in the areas of tiling, carpentry, plastering and painting. Basic MIG welding skills would also be highly regarded. Additional duties may include gardening, gutter cleaning, rubbish removal, furniture relocation and other duties as required.

Candidates must have a strong customer service focus, reasonable IT skills, full manual drivers licence, a clean criminal history record and a good knowledge of hand tools.

As the role involves meeting new people and working in their premises, excellent people skills and a professional presentation (including personal hygiene) are mandatory.

The typical hours of work will be 7:30am until 4:00pm, however some after hours work is required and one week in every four you will be required to be on call.

A company vehicle, phone, iPad and all necessary power tools will be provided, along with a uniform. Candidates will be required to supply their own basic hand tools.

This role would suit someone who fancies themselves a good generalist DIY'er and who enjoys variety in their day-to-day work duties and the satisfaction that comes from taking on a challenge and delivering a result that exceeds their client's expectations.

All candidates will need to provide recent, contactable and verifiable work references (Manager level), a VicRoads driving history transcript and be willing to submit to a national criminal history check. A manual driver's licence is required to drive the company vehicle (Ford Ranger) and experience towing and reversing a trailer is also a necessity.
