About the role:

We are proud to partner with a highly regarded Newcastle business that provides specialist electrical solutions to the mining, power generation, resource, infrastructure and distribution sectors. The products they deliver to both Australian and overseas customers include substations, switchboards, switchrooms and motor control centres. They are known for their continued research and development activities that produce high quality products, and for delivering these products to customers on time. This business has developed strong client relationships over many years which has resulted in many long-term clients and repeat business. 

Due to a strong pipeline of work, our client is looking for an Electrical Estimator with exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail to join their Newcastle team. This person will report to the Business Development Manager and provide technical estimating services to enhance the company's position to capitalise on market opportunities. Key responsibilities of the role include:
  • Up front design for the purpose of preparing quotations and tenders.
  • Compile letters of offer, tender schedules, program and other items required by tender.
  • Review tender documents assessing scope, risks involved, tender complexity etc and provide feedback to management.
  • Participate in the design review process as required.
  • Ongoing liaison with customers to determine progress of tender.
  • Monitor the quality of quotations to ensure that they are accurate.
  • Keep customers and business development team informed of any potential problems or likely delays to the completion of quotations.
  • Proactively seek to identify customer requirements.
  • Assist with analysis of customer trends to enhance sales & service.
  • Maintaining the company CRM as required.
To be considered for this role, it is essential that you hold:
  • Relevant Electrical trade and/or engineering qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in an electrical estimating capacity
  • Experience in mining & industrial switchboard manufacturing, installation or maintenance
  • Strong organisation and time management skills
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills 
  • Immaculate presentation skills and ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both written and verbal
  • Excellent attention to detail 
  • Strong computer skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Suite, Pronto ERP and CRM
