About the business and the role

Queensland Communications lead the way in the design, commission and maintenance of quality two way radio infrastructure and systems.

Our expertise allows us to provide Local and Wide Area Radio and Location services, ranging from Warehousing and Transport industries, to critical infrastructure for Emergency Services.

Job tasks and responsibilities

Working within a small team, you will be responsible for :

Configuration, installation, commissioning, maintenance and timely repair of radio infrastructure on Queensland Communications and varied customer sites to the highest standard

Assist with designing customer radio solutions

Configuration and programming of a range of leading manufacturers portable, mobile and base radios to suit customer requirements

Integration of radio systems, IT components and applications

Workshop and onsite equipment repairs

Liase with customers

Conduct site surveys and audits

 Maintain and configure wide area networks

Work locations vary, from the workshop to remote client radio sites across Queensland and interstate where you will work autonomously or leading a team

Skills and experience

Minimum of Certificate IV in Telecommunications / Radio Communications, equivalent trade certificate or above

Demonstrated experience in Analogue and Digital VHF / UHF/ Trunked Radio Technologies

Experience with Motorola, Tait, Icom and Htytera product ranges will be highly regarded

Ability to work autonomously in varied field locations and to lead installation crews

High level of verbal and written communication skills 

Willingness to travel 

Ability to obtain required security clearances

Have a high level of "hands on" practical skills  

Willing to learn new technologies to stay at the forefront of emerging technologies 

Have a passion for the radio industry and the attention to detail to do your best at all times
