About the role

  • To report and inspect on Automatic Fire Detection Systems, EWIS Systems, Sprinkler, Systems, Exit & Emergency Lighting, stair pressurization, mechanical ventilation etc.
  • To carry out passive fire inspections and provision of reports. (Includes fire dampers and fire rating of penetrations)
  • Perform code compliance assessments of sites accurately and report.
  • Attend system interface tests (with some occasional after hours & Saturday morning testing).
  • Have basic knowledge of applicable Australian Standards covering essential services and the BCA/NCC.

Skills and experience

  • Industry experience in the fire/construction industry (minimum 2 years).
  • To be skilled in effective methods of communication, both written and spoken.
  • To have the necessary level of competence in the use of hand tools, measurement devices, ladders etc, to complete the duties of a Fire Safety Inspector.
  • Ability for physically demanding work.
  • Proficient with Word, Excel and Outlook is required.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD would be advantageous.
