Our client is an Australian family owned and operated global business with over 130 years in the market. They manufacture the most widely used brand of Sports equipment in Australia.
With operation across Australia, New Zealand, India, and the United Kingdom, they are now looking for an Sewing Machine Mechanic / Fitter to join their experienced and traditional team.
About the role
The Sewing Machine Mechanic / Fitter is a Permanent role working in a traditional and clean factory in the South Eastern suburbs.
Your responsibilities will include, but not limited:
- Attending breakdown and repair of Sewing machines
- Identifying mechanical problems and assisting with solutions
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings
- Providing preventative maintenance
- Handling of materials
- Ordering parts and consumables when needed
- Using hand and power tools
- Performing quality control tests
- Assisting with new components and projects
- Working within a team to meet production and OHS requirements
The pay rate will be defined depending on your previous experience and skills.
You will work 7am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday. Weekends and overtime will be available depending on job requirements.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Previous experience as an Industrial Sewing Machine Mechanic or Fitter
- Strong mechanical knowledge of sewing, knitting, weaving, printing, packaging or FMCG machines - repairs and maintenance
- The ability to read and interpret technical drawings, perform diagnostics and make new components
- The ability to use hand and power tools
- Be safety conscious
- Positive attitude, desire to grow and committed to work is a must
- Looking for a long-term employment in a technical role
