About the Role

An exciting opportunity exists within Student Village Melbourne, for an Evening Duty Manager, reporting to the Village Manager. This role will be on a part time basis.

We are looking for a responsible person who is customer service focused and safety & security minded. You would need to be available to work Friday and Saturday from 11pm-7am.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has at least 2 years' experience in providing hands on operational security and incident management in a pastoral care environment (e.g. nursing home, hospital, student accommodation, and higher education/university sector).

Key Duties

  • Dealing with Resident enquiries;
  • Undertaking general security functions by maintaining the agreed standard for safety and security for all Residents;
  • Provide consistent high quality customer service to both internal and external customers to the prescribed service standards;
  • Actively manage security and safety within the premises to the prescribed standard operating procedures;
  • Respond to and assist in critical matters in a timely fashion;
  • Investigate, create & publish accurate reports for related events;
  • Pastoral care of residents as required

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Previous customer service experience within a hospitality or student accommodation environment;
  • Leadership and supervisory experience and skills;
  • Negotiation, delegation and conflict resolution skills;
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Proven ability to follow procedures and maintain systems;
  • Ability to remain calm and in control during potentially difficult situations;
  • Good knowledge and understanding of security procedures and responses;
  • Current Police Check & VIC Working with Children Check
  • Current First Aid Certificate
