About the role

Reporting to the Works Delivery Coordinator, the Distribution Worker (Dual Trade – Linesworker / Electrician) will be part of the works delivery team to safely, efficiently and professionally carry out all works assigned.

There are two (2) maximum term positions available (2 year contracts). One role is based in Kununurra and the other in Carnarvon. Please select your location preference from a check box during your application.

Responsibilities will include but are not be limited to:

  • Actively contributing to a personal and corporate safe working environment
  • Constructing, maintaining, inspecting and repairing overhead and underground high voltage networks
  • Constructing, maintaining, inspecting and repairing low voltage networks
  • Completion of data and commissioning sheets
  • Operating plant and equipment in accordance with qualifications and standards
  • Completing work in accordance with relevant instructions and standards

About the person

You will possess the following current education and qualifications:

  • Certificate III Electricity Supply Industry (ESI) – Distribution Powerline qualification or Australian Linesworker Trade qualification equivalent
  • WA Licensed Electrical Worker (Electrical Installer) or equivalent
  • Valid Drivers Licence HR minimum (prepared to transfer to a WA Heavy Vehicle Licence)
  • High Risk Licences: EWP/WP, Forklift (LF), Dogging (DG)
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Pole Top rescue, EWP Rescue, EWP Emergency Descent Device/ Escape
  • Worksafe White Card
  • Low Voltage and High Voltage Switching qualifications and experience

Desired education and qualifications include:

  • High Voltage Glove and Barrier qualification
  • High Risk Licence: C2 (20 Tonne Crane)
  • Low Voltage & High Voltage Underground Polymeric Cable Jointing
  • Frontline Management units of competency
  • Basic Rigging Ticket

Skills and Experience:

  • Demonstrated dedication to working safely and adhering to procedures
  • Commitment to personal and corporate excellence and have a high work ethic with proven attention to detail
  • Demonstrate a proficiency in all aspects of High Voltage and Low Voltage network works
  • Ability to problem solve, make decisions, and work well in a team
  • Show initiative and be able to work without supervision
  • Demonstrated computer skills
