Starting as a small contractor providing silica mining & haulage services for BHP Billiton back in 2000, our operations have since expanded to include crushing and screening, quarry products, bulk transport services and site civil works.
About the role
We are currently seeking an experienced Heavy Duty Fitter to join our maintenance team at the Granites Gold Mine (Northern Territory)
Reporting to the Site Manager, this position is:
- Fly in fly out, ex Darwin or ex Perth
- 2:1 dayshift/nightshift roster
- Permanent
This role would suit an experienced HD Fitter/Mechanic looking for job security and the job satisfaction that comes with a quality preventative maintenance program with occasional troubleshooting and fault finding.
The right candidate for this roll will be eager to work with this tight knit group of dedicated individuals, with a great attitude towards work and positive outlook in general.
To be successful in your application, you will need the following:
- Relevant trade qualifications required to perform your duties as a Heavy Duty Fitter
- Minimum 3 years' experience as a heavy duty fitter/mechanic with a demonstrated safety and performance record
- Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised with minimal direction to achieve work outcomes
- Sound record keeping and computer skills
- Good knowledge/experience in safe workshop and mine site operations
- Current clear national police clearance with no pending traffic or criminal convictions
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, including a musculoskeletal and fitness test and drug & alcohol screen
- Current Driver's License
The experience with following equipment will be highly regarded:
- Caterpillar 990, 988H & 980H Loaders
- Kenworth Prime Movers
- Side Tipper Trailers
