Our client is market leader in the manufacture of steel reinforcing products for the construction industry in the Bankstown area.

They have an ongoing long-term casual vacancy (38 hours per week + possible overtime) for a Mechanical Fitter with Australian trade qualifications to join their maintenance team on afternoon shift.

The pay rate is $43.23 inclusive of casual loading
You will receive an additional 15% afternoon shift loading

Duties would include the mechanical maintenance of both reinforcing steel mesh and bar processing equipment in line with plant maintenance schedules.

The hours of work are Monday to Friday 2:30pm to 11pm, with the expectation of being able to offer regular overtime including Saturday work during busy periods.

Please note that the successful applicant will commence on day shift Monday to Friday 6am to 2:30pm for an initial period of training. The pay rate while on day shift is $43.23 inclusive of casual loading

There is a possibility of being offered permanent employment after a qualifying period as a casual (dependant on business requirements and work performance).

Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is essential. Perence is given to applicants with experience in the steel manufacturing industry.

A medical including drug and alcohol testing is required before commencement.

Please note that manual handling and heavy lifting is involved in this role.

Initial interviews will be held in the Programmed SKILLED offices at Penrith or Botany.
