G4S Custodial Services Pty Ltd operates the Prisoner Transport contract on behalf of the Department of Justice Victoria. Our team are responsible for the safe and humane collection and transportation of prisoners in and around Victoria.

We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Fleet Technician to join the team based at the Laverton depot.

Reporting into the General Manager, key duties and responsibilities of the role include;

• Provide expert advice with the relation to the technical conditions of vehicles to all contract staff and all affiliated stakeholders
• Install and maintain Intercom/CCTV solution in the Prisoner Transport Vehicles
• Install and maintain GPS tracking system
• Manage and repair all electronics defects on vehicles in a timely manner
• Conduct all equipment testing including vehicle test drives in line with Service Check Sheets
• Oversee operations in the vehicle workshop including the cleanliness and maintenance of all tools, equipment and working areas
• Manage the relationships with all contractors & suppliers 
• Participate in the ongoing training and development of all contract staff

Ideally, you would possess the following skills, experience and qualifications;

• Auto Electrical Trade Certificate
• Previous demonstrated experience as a fleet technician including diagnostic skills
• Previous experience in supervising workshops as well as the ability to train staff in a similar environment would be highly regarded
• Current Full Victorian Drivers Licence
• Outstanding communication skills with the ability to work with and adapt to people from all different backgrounds
• Knowledge and practise of OH & S Standards in a similar environment
