Penske is a one-stop shop for sales, service and parts for Western Star, MAN, Dennis Eagle, MTU, Detroit & Allison. An excellent opportunity exists for a Leading Hand - Off Highway to join the team and work in Darwin. 

As a Leading Hand - Off Highway, your key duties and responsibilities include:

• Control and direct the Off Highway workshop team to ensure that efficiencies in operation are achieved and monitored; quality work is produced and customer needs are satisfied in line with branch KPI’s.
• Co-ordinate your team’s workloads and ensure that customer requests are met in an efficient and accurate manner.
• Ensure parts supply to the workshop via planning with the Spare Parts Department.
• Champion OH&S activities and controls for the Off Highway workshop facility to ensure Penske Power Systems policies are followed.
• Develop the Off Highway Service Team in order to enhance the personal development of employees.
• Ensure accurate reporting and forecasting on a regular basis through daily field service meetings and updates.
• Maintain policies and programs in order to ensure that customers are contacted on a regular basis, sales are maximised and PPS products and services are promoted.
• Monitor repair times to ensure branch productivity and efficiency targets are met and that staff are encouraged to meet branch KPI’s.
• Be able to work standard hours, overtime and rostered Saturdays to accommodate customers’ requirements.

About you:

• Appropriate Trade, technical or business qualifications.
• At least 5 years’ experience in the Power Gen, Marine or Engine business.
• Sound technical knowledge and experience in MTU & Detroit Diesel off – highway product and / or similar engine lines
• The ability to lead a team of highly skilled technicians.
• The ability to analyse situations and communicate effectively with staff and / or customers.
• The ability to motivate the Off Highway Service team.
• Excellent customer service and is aware of the needs of Internal and External Customers.
• A high level of understanding of workshop coordination, labour sales, labour costs, expenses and margins.
• Effective time management skills.
• The ability to work with computer systems.
