Our client is a global industry leader in the design, manufacture and maintenance of major mining, earthmoving and lifting equipment. As a result of substantial growth, they are now seeking to appoint several experienced and trade qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanics, with a combination of roles available, including Supervisory, Workshop and Field Service. 

Immediately they are looking to engage an Experienced Field Services Technician. You must be a trade qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic. The client location is Dandenong and this role will come with a company car and phone. 

The key requirements the client is seeking in applicants are demonstrated behaviours and attitudes which align to the company culture.  You will need to be flexible to support the needs of the business, have pride in the quality of your work, be able to get along well with people at all levels, especially when dealing with customers and embrace a strong safety culture and focus on inclusion.

You will need to have experience working on and servicing a wide range equipment which includes, but is not limited to: Haul Trucks, Bulldozers, Excavators, Graders, FE Loaders with Backhoes, Diesel Generators, Utes, Fork-Lifts, HR/MR Trucks with Cranes etc. so strong skills in hydraulics, pneumatics and auto electrics is expected.

To be considered for this role, applicants must satisfy the following key selection criteria:

  • Possess Formal Trade Qualifications as a Diesel Mechanic
  • Have at least 2 years post trade experience, preferably within the Civil Construction &/or Mining Industry
  • Have Formal Training and/or Further Skills in Hydraulics and Pneumatics - Highly Regarded
  • Have an inherent understanding of Servicing and Maintenance Procedures for this type of plant and equipment
  • A proven ability to work in the field or workshop - under pressure and time constraints, whilst maintaining Safety & Equipment standards, with quality client outcomes
  • Strong Communication, supported by good documentation skills to ensure all vehicle records/log books are maintained - critical for Insurance and Project Compliance purposes - without these can impact on site access or even job/contract opportunities 
  • Have a Full & Current Drivers Licence with an MR or HR Licence an advantage
  • Be able to Pass a Police Clearance and Drug & Alcohol Test

All positions are Permanent and Full Time with the client directly, and will not require you to undergo any labour hire qualifying periods.  On offer to attract highly motivated and talented candidates are attractive hourly rates - which will reflect your level of skill and experience but looking at about $38p/h plus high amounts of overtime at full penalty rates. As a guide you can expect to earn well in excess of $100,000 given the amount of overtime available. Furthermore, there is an RDO monthly and an Annual Tool Allowance of $1,600.
