Position: CNC Router Operator /1st Class Setter

Due to sustained growth in the industry, we are looking for 3-axis CNC router machinist / 1st class setter to join our fast-growing manufacturing team in the production of Composite Panels for caravan and truck body Parts.

Working hours nominally  Monday to Friday 38Hrs per week working split shifts with early start and late finish on a rotating Fixed roster (as well as additional Overtime as required). To maintain a positive and cohesive team culture we will are investing in  further training to ensure our employees have the skills required to grow with the business.

Job Tasks and Responsibilities:   

  • Manufacture parts in accordance with Customer drawings and specifications to a production schedule.
  • Load and set panels on a 15Meter Flat-bed CNC Router.
  • Operate CNC Flat-bed router to supplied programme.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and a sense of responsibility to follow tasks through to get the job done to meet customer dead line.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail to follow Quality control procedures and have the ability to read and understand engineering ISO drawings.
  • Ability to work to KPI and production targets.
  • Good communication skills to instruct others, ability to follow instructions, and work as part of a team.
  • Be flexible in approach to working hours when deadlines are tight.        
  • Ability to lift 25kgs & Manual handling required.

Skills and Experience:

  • Candidates with trade qualifications or equivalent experience in a job shop environment are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience in either Flat-bed Routing or milling machines in 2 & 3 axis operation is recommended, but not essential. Enthusiastic candidates with suitable attributes will be trained to suit the position
  • Understanding of Precision measuring equipment associated with CNC operation & Basic computer skills.
  • Strong team player who can work in a dynamic and diverse work environment.
  • Have strong communication skills and the ability to work well with fellow colleagues.
  • Read and interpret technical engineering drawings, measuring equipment’s and tool-life expectancy will be prioritised
  • Experience working with various materials such as Fibreglass, Foams, Plywood and Aluminium would be highly regarded.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

This position suits an individual capable to coordinate multiple tasks while delivering the results, efficiently & ensuring premium quality production in accordance with pre-set targets.

The position requires a team approach at all times and reports directly to the CNC supervisor.

Successful candidates need to be willing to advance their education in the field of CNC machining, manufacturing & occupational Health & Safety.

 REPORTS TO:        Supervisor CNC

Conditions:    Probationary period with the prospect of a full time permanent position for the correct candidate. Must live in close proximity to Thomastown.
