Yarrabee Coal Company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Yancoal Australia, based in Blackwater Queensland, 2 hours drive west of Rockhampton. We currently have an exciting opportunity for 4 new Mechanical Fitters to join our growing Maintenance team.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Engineering Tradesperson – Mechanical will possess a high degree of proficiency and working knowledge of Yarrabee's plant and equipment; moreover they must be able to perform service and repairs with minimal supervision from the Maintenance Supervisor.

MINIMUM MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
Key Responsibilities include:
- Relevant Trade qualification/certificate
- Relevant Black Coal Competencies
- Standard 11 Generic Surface Induction
- Australian Open driver's license
- Experience within the coal mining industry
- Previous experience in the maintenance of plant and machinery within a mining or heavy industry environment.
- Proven previous experience with fault finding on heavy mining equipment.
- Previous experience with Hydraulic Excavators and electric truck highly regarded.
- Thorough understanding of individual responsibilities in relation to the Coal Mining Safety & Health Act and associated regulations.
- Advanced mechanical knowledge on heavy equipment and fault finding.
- Sound communication skills and basic computer skills
- Skilled in hazard identification and responsive to safety issues
