Origin's LPG Energy Markets Business currently has a vacancy for an experienced Service & Installation Gas Fitter, based in Somerton (VIC)
The position provides Gas Fitting services for the installation and maintenance of gas equipment at Origin customer and terminal sites within the region.
The Service & Installation Gas Fitter shall be responsible for the following:
- Complete new LPG installations to prescribed time frames in line with required codes and standards
- Ensure all work is completed in a safe manner, applying Origin's permit to work system
- Complete records in accordance with statutory and company requirements for bulk tanks, cylinders and terminal
- To actively participate in all residential, commercial and industrial installations in the area
- Promote Origin's services and build relationships with customers to ensure best possible return for the business
- Provide advice on LPG gas installations to customers including internal contacts
- Provide quotations to Account Managers for new or upgraded installations in line with required codes and standards
- Interpretation and application of Origin codes and industry standards
- Review existing installations to ensure they comply with current industry standards and Origin codes
- Determine the most appropriate way to complete an installation
- Completion of required documents under the permit to work system
Is This You?
You are a trade qualified and licensed Gas Fitter and have exposure to LPG storage Installations. You will also have experience in both Natural Gas and LPG appliance installation and servicing. Possession of a current Type B and Type A gasfitting Licence will be adventitious but not essential. You place a high priority on searching for new ways to gain efficiency without sacrifice to the customer, service or safety. You demonstrate a competent knowledge of established workplace and industry procedures for LPG supply, servicing and distribution as well as able to work in an outside environment and prepared to learn and comply with Company and Statutory requirements. While working unsupervised, your ability to deal with customers and resolve gas related issues and remain calm under pressure is essential. You possess a current and legitimate Driver's Licence suitable for all vehicles driven.
