Horticulturalists, Parks & Gardens, Land & Conservation staff - REQUIRED!
Programmed currently has open vacancies for qualified staff to work with a major client, with depots located across all Brisbane regions. These vacancies require applicants to be qualified and available at short notice. Working hours of these casual positions are Monday to Friday, 9 day fortnights, full time equivalent hours and offer a great work life balance. Pay rates are above award and highly attractive.
To be successful you must possess the following:
- Certificate in Horticulture, Parks and Gardens and/or Land & Conservation Management
- Previous experience in a Horticultural/Landscaping/Conservation role
- Experience and knowledge in plant ID and vegetation
- Construction Induction (Blue/White) Card
- MR (or higher) truck license
- ACDC license
- Chainsaw license
- First Aid (advantageous)
- Traffic Management qualifications (advantageous)
- Fire control qualifications (advantageous)
- Safety conscious, reliable and a dedicated attitude is a MUST
If successful for the position, your role will include but will not be limited to the below duties and responsibilities:
- Day to day maintenance of Brisbane parks, gardens, natural areas & habitats
- Driving fleet vehicles
- Operating relevant maintenance machinery
- Completing basic paperwork and housekeeping of the vehicles
- Weed control, spraying
- General gardening, pruning, planting and area clean ups
- Completing project and routine work programs
- Relating to the community in a helpful and respectful way
- Working in a team environment
- Representing Programmed and our client in a responsible and positive manner
