About the role:

We have a vacancy for a customer focused, driven and experienced Operations Manager to join our Fire Services team in Victoria. In this role, you will be required to plan, direct and control the operational activities to achieve business goals and project targets.

You will work collaboratively with the state managers and functional leaders in the Group Senior Leadership Team to ensure the achievement of set budgets, maintaining and improving customer satisfaction and driving positive performance deliveries through the sales and operational teams.

Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Direct, lead and support the operations of the State Service Team to ensure current and future needs of the operations are met.
  • Maintain awareness of economic market conditions, competitor stance, market share and technological directives to establish positioning as a preferred service provider
  • Manage business service volumes at the highest levels, set KPI’s to minimise WIP and open calls report backlog
  • Manage sub-contractor usage to ensure best practice financial outcomes and resource utilisation.
  • Assist and contribute with the State Manager, to the preparation of financial year budgets together with the Financial Controller, preparing monthly forecasts and other items for regular business review meetings.
  • Foster and engage strategic customer relationships within key market segments to market the business as a preferred service provider within the industry
  • Communicate and assign responsibilities and actions to relevant team members ensuring resolution or elimination of potential issues
  • Escalate unresolved grievances likely to result in customer disputes
  • Provide support and direction to sales and account management teams to achieve growth targets and financial goals
  • Continually pursue opportunities to ensure prime positioning prior to and through tender cycles

 

To be successful in this role you will have experience in:

  • Previous experience in managing a P&L report, analysing the performance and taking corrective action would be adventurous 
  • Previous experience and direct involvement in people management
  • Sound knowledge of commercial, operational and business development activities
  • Previous management experience from within the Fire Protection Services industry
  • Working knowledge of business management systems such as PRONTO and a like within the Fire industry preferred
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills
