The client

Our client is a leading and independent service provider for the engineering and operational maintenance of Solar PV power plants. They currently operate 1 GWp of solar plants throughout Europe & UK and have recently expanded into the Australia market. With a strong success in winning O&M contracts for solar farms in North QLD, they are now looking to grow regional teams to provide premium O&M services.

The role

Our client is looking for 2 Field Technician HVSO to be based in Collinsville or Bowen and be willing to travel to varied project sites in the region. Successful candidates should hold current QLD Electrician license and HV Switching ticket. Closely working with the Operations Team, this role will be primarily responsible for a wide range of operational activities including ensuring safe operation of assets at all times, monitoring & controlling assets as required via SCADA and interfacing systems, reacting to new and developing events on site, and contributing to the content of the operational report, as defined by agreement (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually). This is a 2-year’s fixed term contract, with a possibility to extend.

Key responsibilities

Your duties will include but not limit to the following:

- Conduct general maintenance and servicing tasks including both periodic and spontaneous O&M work. - Execute repairs, rectification or retro-fittings at PV Plant after a authority by the Plant Manager. - Complete documentation of all works, daily time tracking, and CMMS as required by the Plant Manager. - Independent determination of necessary and appropriate additional work and retro-fittings for PV installations. - Interface and continuous reporting to the Operations Team on latest status, work scheduling and on-site activities. - Maintain highest level of Workplace Health & Safety - Keep an updated level of knowledge in your area of expertise by ongoing trainings.

Requirements

To be successful in the role, ideally you will process the following:

- Valid Electrician license for QLD and HV switching ticket and practical experience are essential.

- Valid QLD Drivers Licence.

- Relevant Safety Certifications (White Card).

- Valid First Aid & LV Rescue Trained.

- At least 5 years’ experience working on HV switching applications and 10 years’ experience working on LV applications.

- Experience with Data Communications including SCADA, COMMS system, data logger, routers, data bus system, internet connection.

- Proven experience in being able to effeiciently execute tasks, as defined by a maintenance plan.

- Demonstrate strong organisation skills with excellent problem solving and effective communication skills.

- Be reliable, organised and team focused.

- Have tenacitity, a can-do approach and a strucutred and organised work style.

- Have a strong desire to exceeding expectations.

- Willing to travel to other projects, if and when required.
