Due to an internal promotion, an exciting opportunity exists for an experienced, highly motivated and pro-active Facilities/Grounds Maintenance Officer. This is a permanent appointment.
The Springfield Anglican College is a leading coeducational Anglican College in the Greater Springfield area, located across two campuses. The position is located on the secondary campus.
The Facilities/Grounds Maintenance Officer reports to the Facilities Manager and is responsible for ensuring the College grounds, gardens and facilities are maintained at a high level of operational effectiveness and public presentation.
The Facilities/Grounds Maintenance Officer will ensure staff and student safety at all times and undertake all activities within the requirements of sound Workplace Health and Safety practice.
You will primarily be responsible for:
- Operational effectiveness of College facilities and equipment
- Public presentation of the College grounds
- Administration tasks (keep and maintain records such as maintenance schedules)
- Minor handyman tasks
- College event set up/pack up; and
- Maintaining cooperative relationships with other staff and College stakeholders to ensure that the best presentation of the College is available at all times.
Key attributes:
- Strong work ethic
- Relevant experience in a trade and/or general maintenance
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Queensland Driver's Licence
- Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals and groups
- Sound organisational and problem solving skills
- The ability to prioritise multiple demands
- Administrative and clerical skills
- Practical skills necessary to facilitate the smooth operation of College events
- Flexibility and the ability to work independently and without direct supervision
A Working with Children Blue Card or the ability to attain one is a requirement for this role.
Experience in a school setting would be an advantage but is not considered essential.
