About the role
We have a full time permanent opportunity within our Gearbox Workshop at Mt Thorley for a qualified Plant Mechanic with experience working on both surface and underground products. In this role you will join our rotating mechanical crew in facilitating our underground gearbox commitments. You will apply your technical skill and expertise to carry out these duties in a safe and quality focused manner.
Our Plant Mechanics are recognised for their exact knowledge of CAT equipment – well trained, professional, and experts in their field. We have an excellent leadership team, and great opportunities for trade and career advancement.
The roster for this position is a rotating roster of 2 weeks days (Mon-Fri 6am-4:30pm) followed by 2 weeks nights (Mon-Fri 3:30pm-2am).
About you
As the successful candidate you will possess the following skills:
- Proven experience in a similar role with a mechanical trade qualification;
- Strong Caterpillar product knowledge (surface and underground);
- Strong commitment to meeting customer requirements;
- Excellent diagnostic and repair skills with strong job planning skills;
- Dedicated to maintaining safe work practices and environment.
You will have a proactive approach to your work with demonstrated experience working in high performing teams and have a methodical approach to problem solving.
