Locker service the architectural and construction industries with a range of expanded metal, perforated metal, wire mesh, steel grating, handrails and curtains utilised in facades, balustrades, screening and interior applications.
Locker now have an opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced Maintenance Fitter to join our team based in Dandenong, VIC. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated and experienced individual who will be responsible for providing time critical service and ensuring the reliability of all production equipment and a safe work environment.
Duties include:
- Carrying out inspections and repairs on machinery as directed by the Engineering Manager;
- Carrying out work in compliance with all quality, safety and environmental systems;
- Minimizing production downtime by carrying out efficient and accurate repairs;
- Recording work on paperwork supplied within MEX maintenance software;
- Liaising with Engineering Manager and Production Managers in relation to any plant or equipment issues;
- Reporting defective equipment to the Engineering Manager;
- Actively participate in continuous improvement to plant and operational practices;
- Operating to Lean Manufacturing Principles;
- Actively take part in Root Cause Analysis investigations and corrective actions;
- Actively participate in the goal zero safety culture;
- Reporting and participating in the investigation of all incidents and hazards;
- Being aware of and meeting customer needs both within the organization and outside; and
- Assist in the review and development of SOP's.
Key Qualifications, Skills and Experience required:
- Trade qualification as a Fitter;
- Electrical Reconnect / Disconnect License;
- Minimum 5 years' post trade experience, preferably in a heavy industry/manufacturing environment;
- Demonstrated experience in fault finding and repairing a range of machinery;
- Previous experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems;
- Demonstrated knowledge of WHS responsibilities and an outstanding commitment to Safety;
- Team player with a can do approach;
- Sound analytical and problem solving skills; and
- Strong computer skills and experience using CMMS systems (i.e. Main pack, MEX, SAP )
