We are currently seeking applications from individuals for the following permanent employment opportunity at our Smithton site:

Maintenance Mechanical Leadhand

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, our Maintenance Mechanical Leadhand is responsible for providing maintenance support across our production plant and overseeing up to ten tradespeople within the maintenance department on the day-to-day operational duties. The Mechanical Leadhand plays a key role in leading a team to implement preventive/routine maintenance programs to achieve machine and line efficiencies and minimise downtime. 

If you possess some or all of the following key attributes, we are keen to hear from you:

  • Relevant Australian Trade Qualifications or Trade Recognition - Mechanical/Maintenance Fitter, Fitter/Machinist;
  • Experience/and or qualifications in pneumatics and hydraulics;
  • Ability to adopt an engaging approach to lead a team;
  • Proactive in investigating failures and making recommendations to reduce risk and improve systems/processes;
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the business and
  • Good computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

A good knowledge of Health and Safety safe work practices, excellent problem solving and communication skills along with a flexible attitude are desirable attributes for the successful candidates.
