About the Position
An opportunity has arisen within our Mining Team for an experienced and qualified Condition Monitoring Technician. Based on one of our client's sites in Queensland this is a permanent fly in / fly out position on an even time, seven (7) days on, seven (7) days off roster. ALS will consider covering the costs of flights from major east coast cities including Brisbane, Newcastle and Sydney.
Note that suitable qualified people located within the Central Queensland region will be considered for this opportunity on a drive in, drive out basis. 
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Undertaking routine condition monitoring vibration, oil analysis and thermography surveys and on site assessment of machine condition;
• Analysis of data collected including vibration and oil to determine condition issues on the customer's equipment and required maintenance actions of the customer;
• Providing timely and accurate reports to ALS clients on results of surveys conducted;
• Setting up databases for routine condition monitoring and ensure upgrade and maintenance of databases for their clients;
• Carrying out sensor installation, conveyor belt thickness testing, in-situ field balancing, alignment of rotating machinery as required.

 
About you
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

• Trade Qualified with extensive condition monitoring experience and with minimum Level 2 Certificates for Vibration Analysis;
• Knowledge of mobile plant including draglines and shovel will be looked upon favourably;
• Practical experience in conducting variable speed vibration analysis will be highly regarded;
• Proven experience in using condition monitoring data to extend equipment life;
• An integrated approach to analysis and reporting of condition monitoring information;
• NDT qualifications, trade background and/or engineering degree not essential but will be looked upon favourably;
• Practical mechanical experience and knowledge;
• Good client liaison skills;
• Self-motivation and self-management skills;
• Good IT skills.
