Founded in 1952, Paspaley is a diverse group of companies. Whilst its core business is pearling, including pearl production, wholesale and retail, it also has extensive involvement in the aviation industry, the rural industry and commercial property.
Our pearling operation is extensive and spans coastal regions from Exmouth, WA around to the north of Darwin, NT. Our pearl farms are positioned amongst some of the world's most spectacular coastline and unique marine environments.
We seek an experienced, reliable and qualified Mechanic to work as part of our Broome Engineering Team, assisting with servicing and maintaining our pearling vessels and associated machinery.
The successful applicant must:
- Hold a mechanical trade qualification
- Hold a current driver's license
- Have Australian Citizenship or Residency with full work rights
- Be able to pass a Pre Employment medical and Drug and Alcohol test
- Be a resident of Broome or willing to relocate to Broome.
Desirable but not essential:
- Hold a MED 2 or higher qualification
- Have diesel marine experience
- Hold a Confined Workspace qualification
- Hold a Work at Heights qualification
The position is on a casual basis and based both on land and may include on-board vessels. A five day working week with some overtime is typical. A permanent position is available long term for a suitable candidate.
