Dench Bakers have been passionately baking high quality handmade sourdough and specialty breads, pastries and cakes daily for our own Cafés and selected quality Restaurants, Cafés, Retailers and Farmers' Markets throughout greater Melbourne and regional Victoria since 2005.
Our most important asset is our people and with this in mind we are looking for an experienced Pastry Cook 4 - 5 days per week on a permanent basis. Sunday plus 3 - 4 other weekdays, to be negotiated. We expect this person to complement our dynamic, quality focused team at our modern bakery in Abbotsford.
Reporting to the Head Pastry Chef within our cakes and pastry team you will be someone willing to take on new baking challenges and experiences and have the ability to produce consistent high quality cakes, biscuits, muffins and laminated pastry products.
We are seeking a Pastry Cook with knowledge and experience in the following areas:
- Handmade cakes, biscuits, slices and muffins
- Laminated pastry products (Viennoiserie - croissant, Danish, escargot, puff pastry etc.)
- Experience and interest in new product development
- Able to work in a team environment
- Sound numeracy
- Sound written and verbal communication skills
- Good knife skills
The Pastry Team work primarily on Monday to Friday day shift 6am - 2pm, Sunday shifts would be a slightly later start 7am - 2pm.
