We are currently recruiting for a Laboratory Technician to join our Microbiology team.

In this role you will be focusing on daily laboratory functions, making sure the laboratory is fully stocked and the calibration/maintenance of laboratory equipment.  You will also assist microbiological testing of novel cleaning, disinfecting and sterilising technologies as well as providing assistance with the development of procedures.

Other activities include:

• Assist in planning the microbiological testing
• Performance of daily laboratory functions
• Responsible for ensuring compliance with all standard operating procedures
• Compliance to Quality Management System, WHS and to Environmental Management System policies and procedures.
• Documentation of company SOPs and STMs

Our ideal candidate will have:

• Appropriate tertiary qualifications ( TAFE certificates in microbiology are a minimum)
• At least 2 years experience in a similar role - experience in general laboratory environment is preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• A willingness to take on additional responsibilities as needed
• Demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to, WHS within a laboratory environment
• Strong analytical skills and a strong attention to detail
