ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

SGS Kalgoorlie currently has an opportunity available for a Chemist to join their team. As a Shift Chemist your will be responsible for the quality and quantity preparation of samples, analysing samples and reporting results to SGS clients.

RESPONSIBILITES

As a Chemist you will be required to:

• Understand the processes in the preparation and analysis of samples by AAS and XRF.
• Maintain day to day upkeep of analytical and sample preparation equipment.
• Ensure delivery of quality sample analysis to both internal and external customers.
• Compliance with onsite HSE standards.
• Understand assay methods and recognition of sample types.
• Ensure all functions are performed in correct numerical order, while adopting QC requirements and avoiding potential contamination.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

As the successful candidate, you will have:
• Diploma/Degree Chemistry or relevant qualifications
• Excellent time management and organisational skills
• Strong problem solving skills
• Previous experience working in a minerals laboratory
• Current First Aid Certificate desirable
• Current drivers licence
